Braeburns is our toddler room, for children aged 2 to 3 years.
Some children in Braeburns transition from our baby room and others start with us when they are 2 years old. For some new starters this can be a daunting time as they may have spent most of their life so far at home with close family. This is where our loving, cuddly staff in Braeburns shine.
We focus on building relationships with the children and their families in order to support everyone through that initial transition into nursery. In this room we spend a lot of time bonding with the children and helping them to become confident when interacting with the other children and staff in setting. Most children at this age still nap in the day, so we have designated sleep areas for the children to relax and recharge.
As the children become more settled, we encourage lots of messy play, small world play and imaginative play to help to develop their speech, social and physical skills. Braeburns is often the room in which toilet training is initiated if the children are ready.
Braeburns children have a fantastic outdoor space to use, and we take full advantage of the park in which we are situated. We also take the children on walks in the local community, to the woods, the playground and to see the horses and other animals in the fields.
